FOSTERING COLLABORATION THROUGH PRACTICAL INVESTIGATIONS

In the Applied Linguistics, Language, and Literacy (ALLL) Research Interest Group, we investigate incidental and intentional language and literacy acquisition by learners at all levels of education. Using a number of different techniques, we approach multiple language learning “puzzles” from a variety of applied linguistics perspectives. The ALLL Research Interest Group (i.e., Professor Reynolds’s research group) conducts their research in the Faculty of Education and the Centre for Cognitive and Brain Sciences at the University of Macau.

Dr. Reynolds welcomes emails from all Faculty of Education Master’s students that wish to know more about the possibility of completing thesis research under his supervision. Dr. Reynolds is willing to supervise theses in a wide range of areas related to the teaching and learning of vocabulary, educational technology, written corrective feedback for L2 writing development, computer-assisted language learning, digital game-based learning, informal, incidental and extramural language learning, and related areas involving eye-tracking data collection.

Potential PhD students are encouraged to first visit the Faculty of Education’s webpage for information about the PhD programme in Education and then the Graduate School’s webpage for information on admission. Dr. Reynolds welcomes inquiries from all potential PhD students with an interest in English Language Teacher Education, Language and Literacy Development, and Educational Technology, especially those interested in the use of eye-tracking methodologies.
