The eye-tracking lab, launched in 2019 by Professor Barry Lee Reynolds, is equipped with the SR Research EyeLink Portable Duo. This portable eye-tracker can produce accurate eye-movement data with consistent sampling rate up to 1000 HZ. This high sampling rate enables a range of sophisticated eye-movement research in processing letters, individual words, and sequences while reading. The research currently being conducted in the eye-tracking lab is aimed at exploring EFL learners’ lexical processing of texts while reading and the lexical acquisition of target words through reading. The lab provides abundant opportunities for postgraduate students (at both the master’s and PhD levels) and research assistants to develop the methodological skills needed to conduct multi-disciplinary eye-tracking research.
